Valencia-July 4, 2012
Happy Fourth of July! Although they do not celebrate 4th of July here, the boys and I decided to do something special to celebrate. We spent most of the day at the Bioparc (a great zoo in Valencia). We lucked out and found the bus we needed not far from our house (95). I had my fingers crossed and the boys were up to the challenge. There was a stop not too far from the Bioparc (yes!). After getting a major sunscreen bath, we were on our way. Tommy remembered that the first time we came here he was able to use the map to insure that we saw every exhibit on it. This year was no exception, but now I had two young men anxious to steer us in the right direction. The zoo isn't that big, but it is well organized and has tons of animals. You are warned before entering the lemur exhibit that they are out in the open and not to touch them. One almost jumped on my head the first time we were here, so this time I was ready. Most were sleeping in the trees, but there were plenty to see in action. It was a perfect start! We then spent the next couple hours seeing every animal in the place. After a little bit of a walk, we took the metro back to the bull ring and picked up Mc Donald's for lunch. Andrew was busy all day with his students, so I let the kids have some American food for a change...hey, we were being patriotic :). Andrew came home soon after our return and the boys were able to hang out with him for a little while before his 4th of July activity with his students. I ran a few errands and then made dinner for the boys. We are now ready for bed after a nice 4th of July. We hope you all have had a good one, too.
