Valencia-June 30, 2012
We arrived in our rental apartment last night and settled in rather quickly. We like the apartment and it gives us more space than Sevilla. There are tons of ashes on our patio sue to the fire that is in the province of Valencia (not in the city). I also can't believe what is happening in Colorado and I pray that the fires are controlled soon. So scary and sad! The boys and I were able to get out this morning and do some food shopping and then hit the mercado (market, but not a supermarket-stands of produce, etc.) by our house. It is right down the street and has tons of fresh fruit and vegetables along with meat, chicken and seafood. Andrew met us there and quickly added to our small basket. I am so excited that our apartment has one of those rolling carts that everyone takes to the mercado. I know it sounds silly, but it is so much fun to buy all this fresh food and out in your cart. It also makes it fun for the boys to help. My only challenge with the market is to find out which stall to go to first! The boys and I wander around and then pick one thing at a few different places. I am attaching some pictures of our place.
